Lush valentines haul!

It's mid-january already!

can you even believe it?
As we are heading towards febuary (at lightning speed it seems!), we are starting to see lots of valentines products in stores.
At lush they have bought out lots of lovely new things for valentines day, there are some things we havent seen before and some old favorites have returned.
lets get right to it..

first off i'm going to start with shower gel.
This shower gel is called Prince Charming. it has marshmallow root and fair trade vanilla pod decoction as its main ingredient, this means it's super gentle on the skin and makes you crazy soft, it also has pomigranate juice and grapefruit oil in so its really uplifting. The smell is generally sweet with a fresh, sort of sourness which I find very pleasing. When this is used it leaves a long lasting fragrance in the skin.
Below is the lovely 'the kiss' lip gloss, this is a very glossy sheer pink product that has almost a raspberry taste about it. Shea butter is the moisturising component to this gloss and this gloss has an unusual ingredient which is, Guarana seed powder. This is an energising powder which is used for its lip plumping abilities. Perfect for getting that kissable pout.

Onto bath products now. This is love locket. To me it smacks of 90's barbie, pink plastic campiness. I love it! The vanilla and jasmine give it an almost violet note. This bath bomb is huge! It can be used for two baths. I'm going to use it in one for a decadent treat. This bomb is pink and shimmery, the cherry on top? An extra bomb inside with little pink hearts that whizz around the bath.
•fabulous•

Lonely heart. That's the name of this unassuming little bubble bath. This is fragranced with one of my all time favourite lush scents, love. In the bath it makes you feel wonderful and sexy. Just right for date night. With lemongrass, rose and oakmoss, this has a blousey uplifting earthy fragrance that feels entirely too grown up for the usual bubble range.

This one has basically gone viral, unicorn horn! Everyone loves it and there's even a unicorn selfie meme happening. The idea of this is pretty cool, everyone loves unicorns and lush has managed, once again, to tap straight into what is cool. It has a lavander fragrance that's quite gentle and give a gorgeous lilac bath that shimmers. This one, for me sticks out slightly in the valentines range as being the only one that aims to calm you down and send you off to Bedfordshire rather than feeling sexy and ready to go go go. Other than that it's a winner!

Next up are the ones I didn't purchase, I borrowed the images from Lush southamptons facebook page (they also have Twitter and Instagram) so go check them out.

Heart throb is a bubbleroon type bubble bath, it has the fragrance from African paradise body conditioner. It's a subtly sweet smell with a glittery centre.

Cupid's love soap is very similar to the neon love soap from last year. Lots of figs and passion fruit in this so it has a really fresh smell. This has soya yoghurt in so it's incredibly softening.

This bathbomb is actually pretty cool, it's called floating flower. When you put it in your bath it floats on top and foams outwards to make a big swirling flower. This has little bits of blue in it as well so the colours and patternes are always new and surprising. This has the lust perfume in it. If you like jasmine Then this is the bath ballistic for you!

Last but not least is, 'the kiss' lip scrub. This is a new product that has the same flavour as the gloss. It has sugar and salt in so its a bit like the popcorn lipscrub. This one is pink and for added cuteness has little edible hearts and sprinkles in.

So there you go that is my haul/review of the lush Valentine's range. Don't forget it's all limited edition so get I while you can!

Don't forget if you liked reading this to add me on your reading list. I'm also on bloglovin come find me!

Love (it's the season after all),
Lucy.

New things, a little haul.

Hello,
Two visits in one week, this is the part of the year where those resolutions are being stuck to religiously.

Here's a little background,  the other day I went to meet my lovely friend and her lil baby for a coffee, I got a chai and chocolate cake if you're wondering, at the art house cafe in Southampton. This is a vegetarian cafe run by a few staff but mostly volunteers. We chatted for ages about life and next steps and eventually I saw her on a bus and went to catch one myself.
Yeah, so, that didn't happen. I was waiting for a bus and this nagging little voice in my head kept on saying 'it's only 4.15, you could stay outa bit longer', I ended up leaving the bus stop and going shopping instead!

What a life I lead...

First of all I went into super drug as I wanted to look at the sleek palettes, I can never find the ones I'm looking for or want to look at, they had some nice cream blush sets but I was after a powder and some time the sleek ones are too orange. So I changed plans and looked at good ol' MUA.
I love that the majority of their stuff is £1 so you can really feel free to play around with your look without breaking the bank.

The reason I bought these face products is because I had a set from soap and glory. Inside it had a highlight, blusher and bronzer. Slowly it's be falling apart, I lost the little brush then started to hit pan on all three. The I broke the mirror, I'd say 7 years bad luck but I must have broken so many mirrors over the last few years I'm really over it now. Back to the makeup I bought two bronzers in, shade 1 and shade 2, a blush in Bon Bon and a white eyeshadow in oyster.
I bought the bronzers as a dupe for soap and glory's solar powder as mines running out and has broken out. This one is actually quite good as it goes onto the brush well, I found with my soap and glory set it some times got oily residue on it. As with the S&G set the darker shade is matte and the light shade has a little shimmer in it.
I bought the blusher in Bon Bon, I really like that MUA sell their blushes seperatly. The S&G one has a darker, lighter and white popped in together to make a shimmer block. This colour is the darker pink from the block and this one dosnt have shimmer in which I quite like.
I didn't buy a replacement highlighter. I'm not a huge fan of the highlighter in the set as it has a pink tone to it. However this eyeshadow has proved to be quite good as a highlighter when used sparingly. It has a shimmer in it and is excellent when used in the corners or the eyes and on the brow bone.
Here's a swatchy swatch swatch.

Whilst in super drug I also picked up a new powder, I like to use collection. It's a simple powder but it has an SPF in it which is excellent as it means I'm covered in both makeup setting and sun care. In winter I like to use Ivory and as we move into summer I use the translucent powder.
I also got some new facial wipes. To be honest I don't believe all the hype about never using make up wipes. I think they have their place, I like to use them before bed to remove makeup. Or before cleansing or just to freshen up. I like to use the Nivea wipes and in the cold weather I use the ones for dry skin.

Next thing I got was a facial cleansing buffer, I picked this up because Ingrid Nilson from the YouTube channel missglamourazzi (http://m.youtube.com/user/missglamorazzi) always uses a product called a dew puff  (http://www.dewpuff.com). I thought this would be a good way to test it out without having to order one online. I haven't tried this one out just yet so I'll have to let you know.

That's it for beauty, I then nipped into primary and picked up a couple of bits. I got lovely necklace for £1! I know it's not the best quality it being from primani but it's gold and has hearts and I thought it would be pretty alone or under a collar.
Then I picked up this sleeveless shirt, it's a sheer black shirt and I got it because primary are sometimes a bit shit on arms, sometimes they're a bit too tight. So it's nice that I can wear this under a jumper and not have to worry about that.
Last but not least are these awesome gold metallic temporary tattoos, there's four designs, two sugar skulls, a triangle design and a Indian Hamsa design. Very happy with that.

That's everything I got from my little shopping trip. I hope you liked seeing everything I got, if you enjoyed reading this please put it on your reading list and I will talk to you soon.

Love,
Lucy.

Let's start over.

Oh my good gracious I haven't written for a whole month!
Not cool man!
I've basically just been working a lot, Christmas has been super busy and by the time I've made it home I've been so tired. I've either just gone to sleep or had to make things for Christmas.

New year, new start, and I have some resolutions that's I'd like to share.

1. Keep up to date on here, it's only once a week and to be honest it's pretty piss poor that I've let it slip. I have a great time creating content for this blog and I've got loads of ideas for this year, so keep those peepers peeled.

2. Change the way I think about food, I use food as a comfort most of the time, this year I want to focus on not viewing it as 'healthy' food but better food. Smaller portions and picking better food options. I'm fairly happy with my body. This isn't a body confidence thing, this is to help me live a fuller and better life. Last year I also learned of a few health problems and loosing a bit of weight could help with that.

3. Move out of my parents house, ok, so I did actually do this in about 5 years ago however in July last year due to some financial set backs we decided to move back in.
Sounds sensible, stay with me.
The problem with this is that my parents live in a very small terraced house with my 22 year old brother. It's a little cramped.
The plan is to move to Cumbria, but this hadn't been easy to achieve. I haven't been successful for the  jobs I've applied for and I don't want to move up without a job. This may change soon depending on if the shop in Carlisle are hiring again soon.

I long for a better quality of life and long idyllic summers.

Have an amazing 2015, I'll be back soon with another blog.

Love
Lucy x
