Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Review and Swatches

Welcome back.
I'm sorry it's been such a long time since I've written on the blog. I've been making some changes the biggest one being that I've moved house. Now that I'm here and everything is starting to look ship shape, I finally feel like I can start a new positive chapter which includes lots of lovely blog posts.
For my first post back I thought I would write a review about the new Sleek highlighting palette I just purchased in Solstice. This has four colours and comes with a little brush and a nice sized mirror.
I love sleek make-up, it's super affordable and the colour payoff from their products is always amazing. I'd heard a few bloggers talking about this palette and giving it great reviews so I took the plunge and grabbed one.

As you can see from the above pictures the palette looks really nice and smart. It looks like it's a higher end product than some of their other items and I love that the outside is copper!
The mirror is the size of the whole lid and the brush fits in nicely. I'm not a massive fan of the brush, it's a little awkward to use and the bristles are a bit rough but I suppose it's good that it's been included for those who maybe don't have as many tools at their disposal or are just starting out.
The colours are from left to right. Equinox, Subsolar, Hemisphere and Ecliptic.
On the back of the box it has a little guide as to where to place your highlight and which colour is good for which part of the face.
Step 1. Lift brow with Ecliptic

This is the only cream highlight in the set and has a rich and smooth texture and glides on really well. In the set it looks like a metallic taupe and on its more like a natural dewy shimmer.

Step 2. Add shimmer to cheekbones with Hemisphere

This powder has a velvety texture and has mauve tones and has a strong pinkish pigment when applied. I'd recommend starting of lightly and building up.

Step 3. Highlight nose with Subsolar.

This, whilst still shimmery is almost what I'd describe as a flatter highlight shade. It  has a yellow tone in the palette  and comes out almost white on the skin. It really makes a statement for glowing skin. Perfect for those who like to use strobing techniques in their make-up routine.

Step 4. Use equinox on the Cupid's bow.

The last colour in this palette (and probably my favourite) is Equinox. It reminds me a little of MACs soft and gentle. This has more of a peach vibe to it and it shared the same velvety texture as Hemisphere. This one will suit every skin tone.

I hope you liked reading this post. I'm definitely going to put more on soon!

I'm also on YouTube and Instagram so check me out there all under LulabelleMUA.

Lots of love,
