Therefore I decided that a little mani was in order, I wanted something pretty, pink and above all else- cute.
So today I'm going to show you how I got this lovely daisy motif nail design, what is used and how I did it.
First thing I did was to choose my base colour. I went for 'I Theodora you' by O.P.I, this is from the 'Oz the great and powerful' miniature set. I also wanted a teeny bit of glitter so I also picked out a Barrym nail paint in 'pink iridescent'.
I then started on my base coat, it took 3-4 coats of the baby pink before it was opaque enough that I was happy so if you have a colour you know is similar but quicker then I would go for it. Sometimes O.P.I nudes can be a pain in the butt!
After that had dried sufficiently I added the glitter, I concentrated more towards the tip of the nail and left the base of the nail pinky.
Daisy time!
To create the daisy I started with a '+' then over laid an 'x'. Then added any extra petals I wanted to make the flower look fuller. To make the flower I used the Barrym White nail pen. I've used this product a lot in the past, the reason being that it's so easy to use! I used to use a little brush or a striper to do this so believe me, I've done the leg work. The only down side to this product is that you need a top coat. Other than that it's perfecto.
Once that's dry we need to add the centre of the daisy. I've used a yellow colour club nail varnish for this to stay true to the traditional flower. Just dot a little bit of yellow in the middle. Easy peasy.
The last detail is totally optional (but totally awesome). I added a little metal adornment from a 'nail art' set I got for my birthday from my lovely friend Sarah. It's really cool and has lots of little silver and gold gems.
I popped a little gold disk on one of the daisies on my ring finger (on this finger I did two as more of a statement). It's just stuck on with a little bit of yellow.
All that's left to do is add a top coat- any will do.
Et voila! A lovey spring time nail design.
